According to reports on Sky Sports, Everton, Southampton and West Ham United target Henry Onyekuru is in talks with two unnamed English clubs over a £6.8m move to the Premier League.

What’s the word, then?

Well, the Eupen star has become a target for a number of teams after a standout season for the Belgian side.

The 19-year-old winger has been in brilliant goalscoring form this term, but it is believed that his club will allow him to move to the Premier League.

The Nigerian has a release clause of £6.8m set into his contract and it appears as though two clubs have already taken advantage of that.

How good has he been this season?

He has been excellent.

The wide man has scored 21 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions for Eupen this season – including seven in his last eight matches in the Jupiler Pro League play-offs.

He has also provided a further nine assists to show that he has the creativity and awareness to set up his teammates too.

Would he be a good addition for the trio?

He certainly would be.

Southampton may certainly see some similarities in Onyekuru to when they bought Sadio Mane from Red Bull Salzburg in 2014, as the Senegal international arrived at St Mary’s on the back of an impressive goalscoring season in Austria.

Meanwhile, both Everton and West Ham will be keen on signing a young, exciting forward that is capable of finding the net on a regular basis in order to boost their hopes of competing higher up the Premier League table next season.

The Irons in particular are in desperate need of a player that galvanise their attacking play and to get the London Stadium crowd off of their seats.

What’s the verdict, then?

Well, whoever wins the race to sign Onyekuru will undoubtedly have a top talent on their hands and it is no surprise that two clubs have already begun talks for the winger.

To get a player that has scored more than 20 goals this season and is available for less than £7m would be something of a coup, and it will be interesting to see which team the 19-year-old eventually joins.
