Arsenal and Chelsea are both keeping tabs on RB Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi, according to ESPN.

What's the story?

Doubts over the futures of Petr Cech and Thibaut Courtois at Arsenal and Chelsea respectively have reportedly led the clubs to look for possible alternatives.

ESPN claim that the London outfits sent scouts to watch Gulacsi play in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.

The 27-year-old has been at Leipzig since 2015 when he joined from Red Bull Salzburg, but he is known on English shores having spent five years at Liverpool.

The shot-stopper never made a single senior appearance for the Merseyside outfit, but he has become a crucial member of the Leipzig team, and was recently voted the best in the Bundesliga.

Would Gulacsi boost Arsenal or Chelsea?

There is no doubt that the Hungarian has improved over the years, and the situation involving Cech could pave the way for a move to Arsenal.

The Gunners' current shot-stopper has just 18 months left on his current contract, and at the age of 35, a successor needs to be considered.

As for Chelsea, Courtois is regularly linked with rival clubs and as he is yet to sign a new deal, the future is uncertain.

The Belgian is one of the best in the business right now, and to be thrown into the mix as his replacement at Stamford Bridge could be a big ask for Gulacsi.
