As reported by The Express, Jose Mourinho is preparing for life without David De Gea at Old Trafford and has already lined up an experienced replacement to help fill the gap.

What's the story?

Facing the prospect of losing his number one to Real Madrid in the upcoming summer transfer window, Mourinho needs a goalkeeper of real quality to make an impact in Manchester.

The Express reckon the £85m it would take to bring Jan Oblak to the Red Devils is too steep a price for Jose Mourinho and that he has turned his attention to a top Liverpool target - Inter Milan's Samir Handanovic.

He's not the only 'keeper on Mourinho's radar, also eyeing up Kaspar Schmeichel, according to the paper.

A Handy replacement

At 32 years old, Handanovic is a goalkeeper of vast experience, notching up close to 500 professional appearances and winning over 80 caps for his country Slovenia.

He's played at the highest level for years in Italy at both Udinese and Inter Milan and in the short-term is likely a steady replacement for David De Gea, should he move on from Man United this summer.

The 6ft 4in giant has been first choice at Inter since arriving in 2012 and this season has kept 10 clean sheets in 42 appearances.

He is currently valued at around £10m on Transfermarkt meaning that he represents great value too and in a transfer window where Mourinho needs to invest heavily in other areas of the squad, this is a move that could be perfect for the Red Devils.
