In Focus: Jankto has the potential to be a success at Arsenal

As reported by The Sun, Arsenal hold an interest in Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto this summer.

What’s the story?

Arsenal appear to mean business in the transfer window ahead of the new English Premier League season but seemingly are not done with their business quite yet.

The Sun report that the Gunners are interested in Czech Republic international Jakub Jankto, who plays in Serie A with Udinese.

The paper say that Arsene Wenger had him scouted on multiple occasions last season and going by the comments of his agent, they could have a great chance of signing him.

As quoted by The Sun, Beppe Riso said:

Arsenal like him, he’s a lover of English football. He’s also liked by Juve, Inter and other teams. Still, he’s young, he’s 21 years old, he must be calm and he’s only thinking about Udinese. After that, we’ll see. Do I see him more in the Premier League than other Leagues? Yes.

It certainly sounds as though the Gunners have a good chance of landing their man, certainly over foreign clubs at least.

Who is he?

Making 30 appearances for Udinese last season, scoring five goals and creating four more, Jankto has emerged as real prospect in the Italian league. He has the technical ability and desire to get forward that Arsene Wenger looks for in a central midfielder and at the age of 21 has plenty of room left to grow and improve.

He’s wining international caps in 2017, Czech Republic realising they have a potential star on their hands.

The move to England and a top-four chasing side would be a big step up, but his performances for Udinese suggest he may be ready for a big move.
