According to The Daily Mirror, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is closing in on £12 million-rated Leicester winger Demarai Gray.

Reports are suggesting that the 20-year-old is getting frustrated with his lack of first-team football at the King Power Stadium, despite some impressive performances this season.

Now, Liverpool are ready to meet Gray's release clause which currently stands at £12 million.

However, Tottenham and Everton have also been notified of Gray and his desire to leave Leicester, leaving both clubs on high alert.

To ensure that he gets his man, Jurgen Klopp will reportedly be placing his bid for the player imminently.

How good has Gray been this season?

At just 20-year's-old, Demarai Gray is naturally improving season upon season. However, he has failed to establish himself in the Foxes first team this season, despite the dismal performances of many regular starters.

The former Birmingham youngster has started just 9 games for Leicester this season and scored just twice in all competitions as his role has been mainly as an impact substitute.

While there have been glimpses of the talent that caught the eye of many clubs during his teenage years in the Championship, Gray will likely look back on this campaign with disappointment, both personally and for his club.

Would Gray be a good fit for Liverpool?

While there is no doubting Gray's ability, his reported desire for more first team football will unlikely be fulfilled with a move to Anfield. The offensive talents of Jurgen Klopp's side combined with the inevitable plethora of talent that the German boss is set to bring in this summer, it is doubtful that Demarai Gray will see any more football at Liverpool than he did at Leicester.
