Manchester United and Chelsea are both keeping tabs on Ross Barkley, after Everton set him a deadline of one week to sign his new contract.
With Ross Barkley reportedly stalling on signing a new contract with Everton, The Mirror claim interest from Manchester United and Chelsea has surfaced, leading to much speculation about the 23-year-old’s future.
Ronald Koeman has now set a week’s deadline for the Englishman to sign a new contract. If he fails to do so in the allotted time, his Dutch manager will be ready to listen to offers.

In a word – inconsistent. While there is no doubting the ability of Barkley, far too many times this season has the 23-year-old lacked the consistency needed to be considered in the elite players of the Premier League.
However, he is one of the league leaders in chances created and, with the right players around him, could improve drastically.
If Barkley does decide to move from Goodison Park this summer, he reportedly has plenty of options as to his destination.
If the England international plumps for Chelsea, he will likely see considerably less game-time but would profit from the incredible offensive talents that will surround him when he does see the field of play.
Manchester United would probably offer Barkley more game time than other title rivals. However, would the 23-year-old be able to find a genuine consistency before Mourinho loses his patience?
