As reported by Diario Gol, Barcelona are preparing for life without Neymar this summer and both Manchester clubs are ready to spend big and capitalise on his availability.

What's the story?

Neymar, despite being one of the best players in the world, is having an up and down season at Barcelona and recent performances against Malaga and Juventus may be the last the straw for a club that expects perfection.

Diario Gol reckon his departure from the Catalan giants is now inevitable and that the club are already looking at targets set to be funded by the £170m transfer fee he would command.

At the front of the queue for his signature are said to be Man United and Man City, alongside strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain. Wherever he ends up, he's likely to be a difference maker for his new side.

Difference maker

Despite not scoring as many goals as he'd like at Barcelona this season, the numbers he is racking up are still incredibly impressive by any other club's standards. He has 15 goals and 18 assists across the season, from the left wing, a fantastic haul from 40 appearances in total.

He's still just 25 years of age and has a massive future ahead of him. If he does end up signing for the likes of City or United then he could provide the spark required for Pep Guardiola or Jose Mourinho to launch a serious title bid next season.

The reported £170m is of course a lot of money, almost double the current world record transfer fee, but in the long-term it could well prove to be worth it if he delivers serious silverware in the best years of his career.
