As reported by Diariogol, former Manchester United hero Cristiano Ronaldo has advised one of the world's top players to only leave Barcelona if the Red Devils make their move for him.

What's the story?

The transfer speculation around Neymar is reaching fever pitch with reports in recent days suggesting that he's on the verge of an eye-watering £195m move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

However, if he listens to advice from Cristiano Ronaldo, that's a move that may not happen.

Diariogol say that the Real Madrid superstar has offered some friendly advice to Neymar this summer and has told him to reject a move to Ligue 1, believing it's a backwards step in his career.

The outlet say that Ronaldo has told the Brazilian that if he is intent on a move away from Barcelona, he should wait for Manchester United.

Will he join United?

There doesn't appear to be much hope of United making their move for Neymar this summer so Red Devils fans will have to remain patient on this one, although they'll be heartened to hear that one of their former heroes is still bigging up the club to elite players.

The prospect of a Neymar move to United is mouthwatering and one can only imagine what they could achieve together if he did one day make a move to Manchester.

While he's been overshadowed at Barcelona by the likes of Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, he's still contributed massively to the La Liga side over the past few seasons, scoring 105 goals in 186 appearances.

Given the platform to shine at Old Trafford he could become an English Premier League legend and it's a hypothetical move that's sure to keep United fans dreaming.
