As reported by The Daily Express, Jose Mourinho is set to deliver another critical blow to his former club Chelsea by bringing James Rodriguez to Manchester United.

What's the story?

Manchester United have already agreed a deal with Everton for Romelu Lukaku, stealing him from under Chelsea's noses and now they're in the market for another Blues target.

The Express say the Stamford Bridge side are keen on Real Madrid star James Rodriguez but that United are also interested in signing him. Not only that but Rodriguez is said to favour a move to Manchester, meaning that the Red Devils are hot favourites for his signature.

The paper say he could cost as much as £70m.

What United need?

With the departure of Wayne Rooney to Everton, United will be looking for a creative attacking midfielder with an eye for goal and Rodriguez most certainly fits that ball. The Colombian has scored 36 goals in 110 appearances for Real Madrid from attacking midfield, proving he has what it takes to fulfil that role at Old Trafford.

Still just 25 years of age, he's set to give whatever club he lands at next the peak years of his career and that's not something Manchester United should miss out on, especially if he's the creative force they need to complement Lukaku.
