Chelsea are prepared to double Danny Rose's wages if Tottenham Hotspur allow him to leave within the next three weeks, according to the London Evening Standard.

What's the word?

The England international is not the most popular player in North London right now after his revealing interview with the Sun.

The 27-year-old appeared to question Spurs' ambition and suggested that he was not earning as much as he deserves.

The London Evening Standard claims that Rose is pocketing around £60,000 a week, but Chelsea are willing to double that to £120,000 if Tottenham decide to sell.

The report adds that the reigning Premier League champions would have no issue paying £50m for Rose's signature, but they are not expecting Spurs to do business.

What's Rose's next move?

After his controversial comments, the best thing for the left-back to do is get his head down and work his way back to fitness and into Mauricio Pochettino's good books.

With the season underway and a matter of weeks before the transfer window closes, it would make no sense for Spurs to sell.

If money is a big reason why Rose is considering his future, then of course an offer of £120,000 per week would be tempting, but he would certainly ruin his relationship with Tottenham fans if he left to join a London rival.

On top of that, Rose mentioned that he would one day like to return to the North of England to be close to his family.

He also appeared to backtrack on his criticism by issuing an apology for the timing of his interview and that he was supporting the team.

Rose's reputation could be ruined if he suddenly jumped ship and moved across to West London.

If by the end of the season the England international is unhappy at Spurs, then he can reassess his future.
