As reported by The Daily Mail, Sam Allardyce is hoping to add powerful Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho to his defence in this month’s transfer window.
Mamadou Sakho hasn’t made a single appearance at Liverpool this season after a bust up with Jurgen Klopp in pre-season training. That’s left his future in doubt and a host of clubs are interested in his signature.
The Mail reckon Crystal Palace are the latest team to show interest with the likes of Galatasaray and Sevilla also eager to land the big Reds defender.
Sakho made be on the sidelines at Anfield but that doesn’t mean he lacks the quality required to improve the Palace first team.
The Eagles badly need that improvement too. They’ve conceded a massive 40 Premier League goals this season. Only Hull and Swansea have let more goals go past them so far this term.
Defensive improvement would go a long way to boosting their Premier League survival bid considering they’re scoring plenty of goals,
Sakho is an experienced top level player with caps for France and would undoubtedly be an upgrade on the likes of Damien Delaney.
Can Allardyce get the deal done and take a big step towards ensuring they don’t make the drop into the Championship?
