As reported by The Daily Star, Everton are hoping to make a £16m move for AC Milan attacker M'Baye Niang this summer.

What's the story?

The Toffees have already made some big signings in the close season with Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen joining Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park.

Now they're looking at another big move and, according to The Daily Star, are prepared to spend £16m on M'Baye Niang after he made the breakthrough in the Premier League on loan at Watford last season.

Niang's promising ability has been hampered in recent years but a move to Everton, where he can find a permanent home and a manager who believes in him, could be the making of the player.

The answer for Everton?

Everton fans are hoping for next-level signings this summer that can potentially turn them into top four contenders.

In that sense, signing Niang may be something of a disappointment considering he’s never really shown a consistency in his career that proves he is capable of being a star for a top four side.

Making 16 appearances in the Premier League last season for Watford, he showed flashes of brilliance, scoring 2 goals and assisting 2 more .

Still just 22, the argument that Niang shows plenty of potential is strong and at a club like Everton may have the room to breathe a little and develop as a expert first teamer.

At the reported £16m, his signature may be seen as a risk but it could be one worth taking for the long-term benefits.
