As reported by The Daily Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur fans could a dramatic shift in personnel at the club this summer.

What's the story?

Danny Rose is having one of his best seasons in a Spurs shirt and that's alerted envious Manchester City, who are looking to bolster their faltering backline this season with a move for the England international.

That's what The Mirror reckon anyway, and they say City could spend up to £50m to land their man, money Spurs can't refuse as they continue to fund their new £750m stadium.

City are confident Mauricio Pochettino's side will take the money and if they do, The Mirror says that they'll replace him with fellow England star Luke Shaw, reported to be available for a maximum of £30m.

Should Spurs do the good business on Rose while they can or keep him around to help potentially challenge for the title next season?

Shaw vs Rose so far this season

In contrast to Danny Rose, Luke Shaw is having a bit of a nightmare season at Manchester United. The arrival of Jose Mourinho has seen him frozen out of first team plans on a regular basis, making just 8 Premier League appearances so far this season, with only 1 of those coming since October last year.

Shaw is undoubtedly a fine footballer but in comparison to Rose, who is emerging into one of the best full-backs around, there's no contest at this moment in time.

The Spurs wide man has been part of an incredible dual-flank double act with Kyle Walker, often seen rampaging down the left hand side in support of his teammates in the final third. In the form he was in before his injury in January, he looked irreplaceable.

Tottenham should stick with their man despite the money on offer. A settled side will do wonders for Pochettino next season. You get the impression the club are on the verge of something special and disrupting that could prove very costly indeed.
