As reported by The Scottish Sun, Rangers have not yet given up hope of signing Hearts winger Jamie Walker this summer.

What's the story?

After the departure of Barrie McKay to Nottingham Forest, Rangers will be looking for a real creative goal threat on their left flank and it seems Pedro Caixinha has his heart set on one man in particular.

The Scottish Sun say the Ibrox boss personally attended Hearts' recent friendly clash with Newcastle United to run the rule over winger Jamie Walker, having already had bids rejected by the Edinburgh outfit already this summer.

The paper say that the Light Blues are ready to do business again though and will launch a fourth bid for the 24-year-old.

What does he offer?

Walker was a sensation for Hearts last season, by far their most effective attacking talent across the season. He scored a massive 15 goals from the left wing, often cutting in a trademark style before lashing one home past opposition goalkeepers.

To put that into context, that's as many goals as anyone at Rangers scored last term. Adding that kind of goal threat would be a real positive for the Light Blues and is more than adequate replacement for Barrie McKay.

Still just 24, he has his whole future ahead of him and a move to Rangers could even see him in the reckoning to start getting Scotland caps after starring for his nation at five youth age groups.

His style would be a real hit with supporters too, he's fearless and direct in a way that can only be appreciated by fans. If Rangers can get the deal done then his transfer could be one of the best of the summer.
