Crystal Palace have opened talks over a £3m move for West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian, according to the Daily Mail.

What's the story?

The Spanish shot-stopper's future has been called into question after the Hammers signed Joe Hart from Manchester City on a season-long loan.

Adrian has been part of the West Ham fold since his 2013 move from Real Betis, but he is likely to be squeezed out of the number one role.

The Daily Mail claims that the 30-year-old is keen to move on and that Palace could be his next destination in a £3m deal.

It is believed that manager Frank de Boer switched his attention to Adrian after his proposed capture of Barcelona's Jasper Cillessen fell through.

Should West Ham let him go?

It is clear that Adrian's playing time will be hugely limited following Hart's arrival, so it is understandable if he wants to leave.

From West Ham's point of view, though, they are in a slight predicament given that they recently sold goalkeeper Darren Randolph to Middlesbrough.

If Adrian also leaves the club, the Hammers will not have experienced back-ups to call upon in the event that Hart suffers an injury or suspension.

Manager Slaven Bilic should try to make the Spaniard feel that he still has a contribution to make at the East London outfit.

If he is unable to do so, then the Croatian needs to ensure that a decent replacement is brought in before the transfer window shuts at the end of August.
