In Focus: Youngster’s future best served at Celtic, not Chelsea

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Celtic are at risk of losing one of their brightest young prospects with Chelsea making moves to sign Karamoko Dembele.

What’s the story?

Still only 14 years of age, Dembele is fast becoming a well known name amongst British football fans for his viral videos and the fact he made the Hoops’ U20s side at the age of just 13 last season.

His rise in stature has apparently not gone unnoticed by some big sides with The Scottish Sun reporting that Chelsea are already making moves to sign him.

It comes after the Stamford Bridge side recently poached away another young talent from Scottish football a couple of months ago, signing Billy Gilmour from Rangers for a compensation fee.

Eligible for both Scotland and England and with big teams looking to tempt him away from Celtic, Karamoko Dembele and his representatives have a lot of big decisions ahead in the years to come.

The most important thing for now is that he enjoys his football and continues to develop at his current rate. Eventually first-team football will come calling and that will truly determine how much potential he has.

The first-team football is far more likely to come at the Hoops rather than Chelsea and that’s why it’s probably best for him to remain under the wing of Brendan Rodgers for now.
