Everton are preparing to offer £18m to Feyenoord for attacker Nicolai Jorgensen, according to Danish publication BT.
Everton have raced out of the blocks in terms of getting transfer targets tied down.
They have already spent over £50m on midfielder Davy Klaassen and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
Now, according to BT, their attention has turned to Jorgensen as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who previously admitted that he does not envisage seeing himself at Everton next season.
Jorgensen’s agent Mikkel Nissen has revealed that a number of clubs are interested in his client, but he has refused to reveal their identities.
BT quotes him as saying:
“The interest is generally great, but I will not comment on specific club names.”
Only time will tell. If Lukaku does leave, then he has very big boots to fill, and there will be pressure on whoever comes into the club to take his place.
If Jorgensen becomes that man, there is plenty to be excited abut for Everton fans given his eye for goal.
Last season, the Dane scored 25 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions, and 21 of them came in the Eredivisie, which Feyenoord went on to win.
Jorgensen also contributed with 12 assists, but the test will be whether he can cut it in the Premier League.
As well as his strong finishing, the forward can pick out a pass and also has strength on the ball.
