As reported by The Daily Mail, Leicester City are set for a busy transfer deadline day and are tracking three stars for last-minute January deals.
Having already picked up Wilfred Ndidi this month, Claudio Ranieri is not finished with his January acquisitions in his attempt to revitalise a struggling Foxes squad.
The Mail reckon that the Leicester manager is chasing three players as the transfer window draws to a close; Kara Mbodji of Anderlecht, Gaston Ramirez at Middlesbrough and Wesley Hoedt of Lazio.
Their interest in Mbodji is concrete according to the paper, with the Foxes having already made two bids for the Senegal international. The reported £8m may not be enough to secure his services, with the Mail saying that the Belgian club are holding out for around £13m.
Leicester currently sit in 15th position in the Premier League table and badly need reinforcements to kickstart their season to guard against slipping into a relegation battle.
Ranieri’s side have struggled to replicate the historic feats of last season with a number of key stars from last term not able to have the same impact.
In Mbodji they’d be getting an in-form defender ready to challenge for first team football and in Gaston Ramirez a creative force that could be the key to reinvigorating the likes of Jamie Vardy.
With Foxes fans hoping that new man Ndidi can go some way to filling the hole left by N’Golo Kante, Ranieri’s January business down the spine of the team could be the difference between a comfortable mid-table position and relegation disaster.
