Jurgen Klopp has established interest in Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa and sent scouts to watch the teenager in action this week, according to Italian publication GazzaMercato.

What's the word?

Jurgen Klopp has a lot of work to do this summer if he is to make Liverpool into a side capable of fighting for honours next season but it seems he will continue to put his trust into young players, with 19-year-old Federico Chiesa the latest man to attract his interest.

GazzaMercato state the Reds sent scouts to watch the Fiorentina man in action against Torino on Monday night, where La Viola threw away a two-goal lead to draw with their Turin opponents.

Chiesa is highly-rated on the continent and his name is recognisable due to his father, Enrico Chiesa, who played over 500 career matches in Italy and scored seven times for the Italian national team- earning 22 caps.

Is he the right target?

Fans may be concerned by links to young Chiesa though as Liverpool are crying out for more established players and also have an abundance of quality out wide- which suggests the Reds should be looking to strengthen elsewhere.

That said, Chiesa may be a quality addition for the side in the long-term and has impressed after making his debut on the opening day of the season against Juventus- making 17 appearances since and netting two goals.

Having recently extended his deal with Fiorentina until 2020, Liverpool may find it difficult to negotiate a deal for the 19-year-old.
