According to Don Balon, Liverpool wonderkid Ben Woodburn is attracting the interest of Barcelona who may look to sign the Wales international in the next 12 months.

What's the Story?

As if Barcelona haven't caused enough trouble for Liverpool already! Now, Spanish papers are reporting that the Catalan club are monitoring Ben Woodburn, as they look to invest in a youngster whose potential has caught the attention of the football world.

Incredibly, Barcelona has the chance to sign Woodburn when he went for Spanish trials at the age of 12. However, the European giants decided against a move for the Welsh international. However, it seems that recent performances have re-ignited Barca's interest.

How good has Woodburn been this season?

Despite having yet to play a minute of league football for Liverpool this year, Woodburn, who is valued at £1.35million by Transfermarkt has impressed in the League Cup and during pre-season.

However, the 18-year-old has earned most of his accolades for his performances in a Wales shirt. The youngster has been a major catalyst for a number of recent wins for the Welsh national team and it is genuinely disappointing that his talents will not be on show in Russia during this Summer's World Cup.

Would Liverpool consider letting Woodburn go to Barca?

While Liverpool will do almost everything in their power to ensure that Barcelona don't land Woodburn, especially after the Coutinho debacle, the Reds can only do so much. If Woodburn wants to test himself at the very highest level then no one would begrudge him a move to arguably the biggest club in the world.
