The 21-year-old Brazilian has been at the Parc des Princes since the summer of 2013, but has largely struggled to hold down a position in the Ligue 1 champions’ starting XI.
Compatriots Thiago Silva and David Luiz are the Parisians’ main men at the back, leaving Marquinhos earning most of his game time from the bench or in rotated teams.
The South American has been playing regularly of late, but his role in PSG’s set-up is far from clear and his agent, Giuliano Bertulocci, has revealed that unless the situation changes his client will look to move on this summer:
“He is always delighted to be playing but he prefers to play in his position, that means in the centre,” he told L’Equipe (via the Daily Star).
“He feels really good at Paris and in this team, he wants to stay.
“But if the situation does not change, then he will ask to leave this summer because at the age of 21, you need to think about his football progression.”
