Man United ‘keeper set to return to Spain

Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes could be set for a return to Spain in a move to Sevilla, according to the Metro.

The Spanish goalkeeper only joined the Red Devils in January after leaving Barcelona, but has fallen out of favour with manager Louis van Gaal.

The 33-year old shot stopper has been left out of the Red Devils’ squads for both the Premier League and Champions League, with the likes of David de Gea and Sergio Romero ahead of him in the pecking order.

Now, Sevilla are said to have opened negotiations regarding a potential free transfer for the World Cup winner after suffering an injury crisis.

The La Liga outfit have lost back up ‘keeper Beto to a serious injury, with doubts presiding over current Number 1 Sergio Rico.

The former Blaugrana bastion won three Champions League titles during his time with the Catalan giants, along with six league titles – as well as the World Cup and Euro 2012 with the Spanish national squad.

He had been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, but could set for a return to Spain.
