As reported by Bein Sports, Manchester City have rejected a bid from an unknown Championship club for their on-loan Aussie midfielder Aaron Mooy, currently at Huddersfield Town.
Aaron Mooy is currently enjoying a fantastic season in the Championship, helping Huddersfield into a play-off position.
It’s form that hasn’t gone un-noticed by their Championship rivals with one high flyer in the division reportedly tabling a £8.8m bid for the midfielder, which was swiftly rejected by Manchester City, according to the outlet.
Guardiola is said to be impressed with the Aussie midfielder’s form, City tasking a scout to give weekly updates on his progress at Huddersfield.
Bein Sports say that City had actually considered recalling the 26 year old January, such is his form for Huddersfield this season. While that never materialised there’s every chance he could force his way into first team plans on his return to the Etihad in the summer.
His defensive attributes make him a valuable asset at City as cover for the likes of Fernandinho and the club are unlikely to let him leave without receiving a significant fee.
Should Huddersfield make up into the Premier League this term, Bein Sports reckon that they’ll table a bid themselves.
What’s certain though is that at least in the short-term, City are not willing to cash in on the Australian international.
