According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are keen on landing young sensation Mijat Gacinovic from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Jose Mourinho watched from the stands last Friday, as Serbia faced Austria in Vienna. And reports are suggesting that he was there to watch one player in particular, Mijat Gacinovic.
The 22-year-old plies his trade with Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany and has been impressing a number of top European clubs with his recent performances.
Despite it only being October, 2017/18 has already been Mijat Gacinovic’s best season as a professional.
The Serbian, who is valued at £3.15million by Transfermarkt, has featured in 12 games for club and country, amking his international debut in the process.
While he has scored just once for Eintracht Frankfurt so far this campaign, the 22-year-old has netted twice in his first ever two games for Serbia, impressing immensely along the way.
At just 22, Gacinovic would provide Manchester United over a decade of service if they were to sign him. As a versatile midfielder, the Serbian offers something that the club don’t actually have at the moment; a diminutive player who is not afraid to cover ground and take the ball with his feet.
While it would be unlikely to see Gacinovic break into the first team at Old Trafford immediately, he would provide a different option from the bench. And who better to tutor the young star than midfielder and compatriot Nemanja Matic.
