As reported by talkSPORT, Romelu Lukaku is set to stay at Everton this summer, according to his agent Mino Raiola.

What's the word?

Romelu Lukaku is maturing into a striker of the highest quality at Everton. That was never more evident than last week against Bournemouth when he hit an incredible four goals past the Cherries to help his side to a 6-3 victory.

Now he's set to end speculation about his future at the club by signing a new contract at the Toffees this summer, according to talkSPORT.

The radio station had Lukaku's agent on air to speak to Jim White and he revealed the news every Everton fan has been waiting for.

As quoted by the outlet, Mino Raiola said:

There are no problems right now between the player and the club. Talks are ongoing. He WILL sign.

If he does commit, Everton will be retaining one of the best strikers in the division and it would be a massive boost to their ambitions of breaking into the top six next season.

How important is he?

In his 4th season at Everton, including the one on loan from Chelsea, Lukaku has undoubtedly been the Toffees’ best player for quite a while.

The striker has scored a terrifying 78 goals in 152 appearances and has often won points on his own with his power and pace obliterating opposition defenders.

It seems inevitable that one day the Belgian hitman will leave Goodison Park but if the club can persuade him to sign one more deal, get another year out of him then sell him at peak value just as he's coming into the peak of his career then it will be celebration time for Everton fans.
