According to The Sun, Tottenham are ready to bid for Benfica midfielder Ljubomir Fejsa as they look to add depth to their squad ahead of the new season.

What's the Story?

After failing to land any targets during this transfer window, Mauricio Pochettino will reportedly turn his attentions to Benfica midfielder Ljubomir Fejsa, who is one of the most decorated European footballers of recent times.

Nicknamed Mr. Success in the report, Fejsa has won an incredible 10 medals in the last nine season with his last three clubs, Partizan Belgrade, Olympiakos and Benfica. His most recent success came a mere three months ago, as Benfica were once again crowned champions of Portugal.

How good was Fejsa last season?

Instrumental to Benfica's domestic success, Fejsa, who is valued at £10.2million by Transfermarkt, featured 32 times in all competitions, scoring one goal. However, it is not Fejsa's goal-scoring prowess that has interested Spurs but rather his tough tackling and distribution from midfield. The Serbian would provide direct competition for the likes of Eric Dier and Moussa Dembele and holds the physical stature necessary for Premier League success.

Would Fejsa be a good signing for Tottenham?

Provided the 28-year-old receives ample game time, Fejsa could be one of the more underrated signings of the summer, should Tottenham go ahead and make the move.  The Serbian is an expert in winning trophies and will be a valuable squad player to help Mauricio Pochettino reach his ultimate goal of domestic glory. An upgrade on Moussa Sissoko? Absolutely.
