AC Milan are pushing Everton to lower their price for on-loan winger Gerard Deulofeu this summer buy sending out the message that they’re not overly bothered by his situation, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness).
The Italian publication are claiming that the fallen Serie A giants are putting out the message that the former Barcelona man is not the be all and end all of their summer business in order to soften Everton’s stance this summer.
The winger was loaned out to Milan in January and has performed well in the famous black and red shirt. After a barnstorming start to life in Serie A there were some suggestions that a move back to Nou Camp could have been a scenario this summer, however, after his form cooled somewhat it seems Milan will be the ones to snap him up this summer.
It’s unlikely. As we’ve seen from the Dutchman’s time at Southampton and Everton, things are very much done his way. The former Barcelona hero has a very devious demeanour about him and will more than likely be playing his own games in retaliation over the coming months.
That said, however, if he doesn’t see the 23-year-old as a part of his plans at Goodison Park then the former Feyenoord boss will be more than happy to take their money and run and will not get caught up in driving the price up too much.
