According to RMC, Roma have failed in a bid to bring Nice midfielder Jean-Michaël Seri to the Serie A club.
Whatâs the Word?
Jean-Pierre Rivere, President of OGC Nice, confirmed to the French media on Monday that Roma have made an offer for the clubsâ highly-rated midfielder Jean-Michaël Seri; an offer which was rejected by the French club.
Rivere stated, âWe have a wish to keep Jean-Michaël. As far as we are concerned, apart from AS Roma, who have spoken out and who have made an offer, we do not have other offers from other clubsâ.
The report coincides with The Guardian journalist Ed Aarons claiming Arsenal and Spurs are both interested in the 25-year-old.
How good has Seri been this season?
The diminutive central midfielder (he stands at just 5ft5) has been a revelation at the heart of the Nice team this season. Playing 42 times in all competitions for the club, Jean-Michaël Seri contributed seven goals and nine assists in that time and was frequently the most influential player on the pitch.
Seri, who is valued at £11.9million by Transfermarkt, has an NâGolo Kante-like quality, in terms of undying stamina and an ability to break up play in the middle of the park. However, Seri is a far more attack-minded player than Kante, with a phenomenal passing ability and a fierce shot from long range.
