Transfer Focus: Two Manchester United targets set to leave Real Madrid this summer

According to AS, Zinedine Zidane is preparing a major clear out at Real Madrid this summer, with as many as seven players set to depart the Bernabeu, including Manchester United targets Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez.

What’s the Word?

Following their second consecutive Champions League victory, Real Madrid are ready to overhaul their squad with as many as seven players set to leave the Spanish Champions this summer.

Portuguese international defenders Pepe and Fabio Coentrao are expected to leave the club, with the former reportedly set to join PSG and the latter Sporting on-loan.

Brazilian star Danilo could also leave in search of first team football, with Inter Milan reportedly interested in the 25-year-old. Goalkeeper Keylor Navas could also leave the club, if a deal with Manchester United stopper David De Gea is reached.

However, it is the likely departures of Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez which will most likely attract the interested of Manchester United fans.

Both players have been linked with moves to Old Trafford this summer, with Rodriguez reportedly in advanced talks with Mourinho over a transfer and Morata emerging as a major target for the Europa League winners.

Will both players sign for Manchester United?

Despite much speculation linking United with Antoine Griezmann in recent months, the transfer embargo placed on Atletico Madrid places significant doubts over that deal.

James Rodriguez may be the most likely man to join United from Real Madrid. With the Colombian seemingly frozen out in the Spanish Capital and Mourinho looking to significantly bolster his attacking options, the 25-year-old moving to Manchester is a significant possibility.

On the other hand, Morata may be considered too much of a gamble, considering the reported asking price of £50million.
