Dean Windass has exclusively told Football FanCast that he’s heard Chris Wilder is going to become the next West Brom manager should Sam Allardyce leave.
However, former Bournemouth man Eddie Howe is now the favourite to take over at Parkhead, with talks previously at an advanced stage.
Current Baggies manager Sam Allardyce still has 12 months remaining on the deal he penned in December, but Windass doesn’t think the once England boss would manage in the Championship should West Brom get relegated.
And therefore, believes that Wilder would be an excellent fit at the Hawthorns.
He told Football FanCast:
“I’ve heard a massive rumour who’s going to take over – Chrissy Wilder. I don’t know if it’s true, but it’s a rumour on the grapevine.
“I think he’ll be a massive attraction for the board of West Brom, he got Sheffield United out of the Championship.
“The only reason why I’m saying that is because can you see Big Sam managing in the Championship? No. Chrissy Wilder would take it in a breath.”
