West Brom have cashed in on a number of different players throughout recent transfer windows such as Matheus Pereira, Salomon Rondon, Jay Rodriguez and Nacer Chadli among others.

One player, in particular, that the Midlands club sold for a significant fee that has proved to have been a good move from the Baggies is striker Saido Berahino.

Having worked his way through the club's youth system with a handful of loan spells under his belt, the Burundi international made a total of 121 senior appearances for the Hawthorns outfit across all competitions in which he managed to score 36 goals and provide eight assists along the way.

After a tumultuous last couple of years at the Hawthorns, the Baggies sold the striker, who was labelled as a "disgrace" by Harry Redknapp, to Stoke City back in the 2017 January transfer window for a fee of £12m.

Having scored just five goals in 56 appearances, Stoke got rid of the attacker just two-and-a-half-years into his five-and-a-half-year deal with the Potters.

Berahino then spent a couple of years in Belgium on the books with Zulte Waregem before making a return to England in August last year, this time to League One club Sheffield Wednesday, where he is currently picking up a weekly wage of £7.6k-per-week according to Salary Sport.

Despite scoring six goals and providing four assists in 22 league appearances with the Owls in this campaign so far, the striker's overall performances haven't been much to shout about, with WhoScored giving him a rating of 6.49/10, making him one of their lowest-rated players.

According to Transfermarkt, the centre-forward's current market value stands at just £1.35m, which is 89% less than the £12m fee that the Midlands club picked up for him from Stoke.

Taking all of this into account, it's safe to say that West Brom made the right decision in selling their former youth prospect for such a significant fee.

Even though the Baggies have struggled to find the back of the net at times this season, it seems unlikely that anyone at the club would have been wishing they'd have kept Berahino and had him as a squad option given how poor he's been on the pitch since leaving the Hawthorns.
