Callum Robinson’s honeymoon period at West Bromwich Albion appears to be over.

The Sheffield United loanee looked like the Baggies’ saviour when he arrived in January with fans previously raving about him.

However, those strong performances seem to have fallen off a bit.

Robinson’s form

The winger has failed to complete either of his last two games, being hooked off at around the 60-minute mark against both Wigan and Swansea.

The 26-year-old has made Slaven Bilic’s second-half substitutions quite simple with his poor performances in those fixtures, averaging a WhoScored rating of just 6.48 throughout those games, failing to score or assist in either of them.

With just nine matches to go, the Midlands club will be hoping that Robinson can rediscover his best form sooner rather than later.

Perhaps their best course of action for now though is to get him out of the team all together in order to inject a new lease of life into him.

Shot in the arm

Whether it’s complacency or fitness issues that have been affecting Robinson, something has stopped him from playing his best football.

One potential solution is to drop him from the starting XI entirely in favour of Grosicki.

Not only is Grosicki capable of playing just as well as Robinson, after all, he contributed to 21 Championship goals last term, but a spell on the bench may be just what the £6.3m-rated man needs.

It would show the winger that he isn’t undroppable and could potentially act as a shot in the arm for him. Meanwhile, it could also give the loanee an opportunity to rest up and recharge if it is indeed a fitness issue that has been plaguing him.

Robinson shouldn’t be out of the team for too long, but taking him out of the XI may be Bilic’s best course of action this weekend.

In other news, West Brom are looking at the wrong player.
