Joseph Masi has dropped an update on Valeiren Ismael's future as West Bromwich Albion manager.

What's the latest?

In a recent report for the Express & Star, the journalist revealed that the Baggies are due to return to training on Wednesday, after being given three days off following their loss to Millwall last weekend.

Masi goes on to state that, with the 46-year-old's future as the Albion head coach being very much up in the air at present, whether or not the Frenchman is the person who leads the first-team squad in their training session today will be an extremely major indicator as to whether Ismael will be still the man in charge when West Brom face Sheffield United next week.

Fans will be sweating

With it very much appearing as if Ismael has lost the support of The Hawthorns faithful - with a poll we ran on Football FanCast on Tuesday proving that a landslide of Baggies fans believe it is time for the 46-year-old to go - following Masi's latest update, supports will be sweating on the news as to whether the Frenchman is indeed leading Albion training today.

Indeed, it is not difficult to see why fans feel this way, as results have simply not been good enough under the former Barnsley manager in recent months, with Albion having won just three of their last 13 Championship fixtures - form that has seen the club slip to fifth place in the second tier standings, eight points behind Blackburn Rovers in second, 13 behind league leaders Fulham and level with seventh-placed Huddersfield Town.

As such, considering the Baggies were a side playing Premier League football last season, with their squad undoubtedly being one of the strongest in the Championship, it is clear for all to see that this form is simply not good enough - something that would appear to suggest Ismael may not be the man to take Albion back to the top flight this season.
