West Bromwich Albion are back in Championship action this evening as they host Birmingham City.

Steve Bruce’s side have not won in all competitions since their 5-2 drubbing of Hull City back in mid-August and will be desperate to get back to winning ways if they are to realise their promotion dreams.

The 61-year-old is facing a selection headache in midfield but still remains light up front due to the injury to Daryl Dike. Some of his summer signings could also be in contention.

So, what kind of side could we expect to see under floodlights at the Hawthorns? Here’s what we are predicting…

David Button will remain in goal and seems unlikely to change following the summer exit of Sam Johnstone.

He is expected to retain his place behind an unchanged back four from their draw with Burnley too, with Taylor Gardner-Hickman and Conor Townsend flanking a centre-back partnership of Kyle Bartley and Dara O’Shea.

We expect Jayson Molumby to drop out in favour of Jake Livermore who has recently returned to action. The £46k-per-weeknatural leader”, as dubbed by The Athletic's Steve Madeley, will be placed alongside another familiar face who was brought in permanently, Okay Yokuslu.

Meanwhile, further up the pitch, we might see a major change as a debut goal for Brandon Thomas-Asante could see him force his way into the starting lineup. He could be handed his full debut in place of the underwhelming Jed Wallace.

The 23-year-old had started the League Two campaign on fire, with four goals and two assists in their opening six games. Perhaps his introduction to the starting lineup here could see him bring this form to Bruce’s side.

Grady Diangana will likely take up a position on the other flank, with John Swift in the number ten role.

That leaves Karlan Grant to cut a lonely figure once again up top, and we will be hoping to add to his tally of four goals in all competitions to start the season off.
