West Brom have been heavily speculated to get stuck into the January transfer window in the next couple of weeks, with the view to enhance their chances to get back into the Premier League next season.

What's the word?

Journalist, Joseph Masi, took to the Express and Star Youtube channel to give West Bromwich Albion fans an exciting insight into the upcoming transfer window and the plan for Valerien Ismael.

“We spoke to Ismael yesterday – pregame on Friday – asked him about transfers and he said he is confident of additions. I think he believes that he will get one or two players next month that will improve this side." revealed Masi.

"We imagine one of those will be a striker, an out and out centre-forward, a goalscorer hopefully.”

West Brom have been struggling to find form over the last month, with just one win from their last five in the Championship, which has seen them distance themselves from the automatic promotion spots in first and second, pushing them closer to a battle for a play-off spot.

The Baggies have thrown away nine points in the last five games and will be under pressure to add quality in January to have a better second half of the season.

Will it be enough to promote West Brom?

If these comments from Masi are true about adding attacking players into the side, West Bromwich Albion will give themselves every chance to get promoted next season and fans will be buzzing, but it could be too late for an automatic promotion spot.

After all, somebody who can find the back of the net on a regular basis with Albion bagging just 29 strikes this term, 31 fewer than promotion rivals, Fulham.

Although Fulham and Bournemouth are not getting wins at the moment, with both sides only taking three points from their last three games, Ismael has a lot of work to do to get his West Brom side in a position to catch up the two teams ahead of them, still six points adrift from second place, they will need to hope both sides go on a bad run of form.

West Brom did manage to take three points from Coventry City last weekend in their first victory in over a month, and will be hoping to continue to score goals going into the second half of the season.
