West Bromwich Albion have never been reluctant when it comes to securing deals for players from other English clubs in the past.

One recent example is Jayson Molumby, who originally joined the Baggies on a loan deal from Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion last summer before making his move permanent in May.

During his debut season with the Midlands club, the midfielder ended up making 31 Championship appearances in which he managed to score just one goal.

The 22-year-old managed to prove himself to be a more midfield figure in a defensive sense rather than being a danger in front of goal.

Specifically, in his 31 league appearances, the Irishman made 24 interceptions and won 27 tackles for his new side.

While Molumby's first season as a permanent West Brom player is approaching, the remaining weeks of the current summer transfer window could give the club the chance to bring in what could be their next version of the former Brighton youngster.

Last month, it was reported that the Baggies were working on a deal to sign Leicester City midfielder, Hamza Choudhury, who Steve Bruce wanted to sign when he was at Newcastle United, this summer.

As another young midfielder at one of the Premier League top clubs, a move for Choudhury could replicate the Baggies' swoop for Molumby last summer.

In terms of the midfield duo's style of play, both players have racked up interceptions in the high 60s during their respective careers, highlighting how efficient they can be without the ball.

Hailed as an "extremely talented" player by Gary Lineker, the Foxes midfielder is currently valued at around €4m (£3.3m) according to CIES.

Having made 53 Premier League appearances for Leicester, the 24-year-old has racked up a combined total of 144 tackles and interceptions, with a percentage of 64.9% aerial duels won, highlighting his defensive talent and what he'd offer Bruce's side.

Moving forward, if West Brom can bring Choudhury to the Hawthorns this summer either on a loan deal or on a permanent basis, this would surely be another good move from the club after their free transfers for John Swift and Jed Wallace.
