West Bromwich Albion are interested in a deal to bring M'Bala Nzola to The Hawthorns this summer.

What's the talk?

That's according to a claim made by Tancredi Palmeri, with the beIN Sports correspondent revealing in a post on Twitter that both West Brom and Fulham are considering a move for the Spezia centre-forward in what remains of the summer transfer window.

Palmeri goes on to state that the 25-year-old is available for a fee of around €7m (£6m), while there has also been interest in the Angola international from Portugal and Turkey.

In his tweet, the journalist said: "Fulham and West Bromwich are looking into Serie A: they have contacted Spezia for Angolan Nzola. Possibly [the] most surprising striker last year with 11 goals out of 24 apps. Price-tag bit more than €7m, also some Turkish and Portuguese clubs have got in contact."

Ismael would love him

With it being reported that Valerien Ismael is still scouring the market for a traditional number nine, it would certainly appear as if Nzola would be a signing that the Frenchman would love to get over the line this summer.

Indeed, over his 25 Serie A appearances last season, the £3.6m-rated man bagged 11 goals, registered three assists and created three big chances for his teammates, as well as taking an average of 1.8 shots and making 0.9 key passes per game.

These returns saw the £10k-per-week hitman earn a highly impressive seasonal SofaScore match rating of 6.98, ranking him as Thiago Motta's third-best player in the league - with Nzola playing an influential role in the Serie A new boys securing a rather remarkable 15th place finish in the top flight of Italian football.

Furthermore, with Antonio Calabro dubbing the 25-year-old a "strong" player, not only does the Angolan boast the ability to find the back of the net on a regular basis, but he would also appear to possess the physicality to cause a real problem for a great many Championship centre-backs this season.

As such, it would very much seem as if Nzola would be something of a perfect fit for Ismael this summer, who must act quickly if he is to beat Fulham to the signing of the striker.
