West Bromwich Albion have bagged their second summer signing after announcing the free capture of rampant winger, Jed Wallace.

What's the word?

In a recent post on their official website, West Brom confirmed the arrival of the out-of-contract Millwall forward on a four-year deal, with the 28-year-old becoming Albion's second summer signing following John Swift's earlier arrival from Reading.

Speaking about the club's capture of the former England youth international, Steve Bruce said: "Jed will be a massive asset to our team, and I'm absolutely delighted to get him through the door."

"He is somebody who I've admired for a long time and have tried to sign before. He's got pace, power, penetration in the final third and, above all, is a top pro.

"To have secured our two primary targets in Jed and John Swift is terrific, and to get these deals both done before the squad return for pre-season is testament to the hard work being done behind the scenes by Ron Gourlay and the recruitment team."

Supporters will be buzzing

Quite simply, Wallace has endured a meteoric rise over the last few seasons, which has propelled him to become one of the top players in England's second tier.

The last three seasons have seen him bag a combined 27 goals and 30 assists in the Championship, which has been split into three very consistent campaigns that have ensured he has conjured up at least 16 goal contributions in each season.

The 28-year-old is an out-and-out creator who makes things happen for his side – which is exactly what Bruce and co need, having finished the campaign as the sixth lowest scorers in the league with just 52 goals scored.

The latest developments around Wallace are promising and a signing of this stature on a free represents serious intent from the Hawthorns hierarchy.
