West Ham United insider ExWHUemployee has claimed that Chelsea “really like” Declan Rice and “have been monitoring him for ages”.
On Monday, a report from Sky Sports claimed that Chelsea were interested in signing Rice during this summer’s transfer window.
The 21-year-old has been an ever-present for the Hammers this season, starting and finishing all 29 of their Premier League matches.
Rice even wore the armband against Leicester City earlier this season.
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are weighing up a move for their former youngster when this summer’s transfer window opens for business.
Rice actually played for the Blues’ youth teams between 2006 and 2014 before leaving to join West Ham at the age of 14.
When asked for verification of the transfer rumour by a West Ham supporter on social media, ExWHUemployee said that Frank Lampard’s side have a firm interest in the England international.
