In an exclusive interview with Football FanCast, Marlon Harewood, who made 511 appearances during his career, believes Tomas Soucek's mentality of only being happy when West Ham win is just what they need.

Soucek initially arrived on loan from Slavia Prague last January before taking the league by storm with his ability to go box-to-box and be a threat in the final third, having found the net 12 times for the Hammers.

West Ham had a clause in the loan deal that they could sign Soucek for just £15 million last summer, which they activated almost immediately before any other club had a chance to speak to the midfielder.

Speaking on what Soucek was like after West Ham's defeat to Man City earlier this season and what he did the following day, Harewood told FFC:

"I heard that after the Man City game he was absolutely devastated about the result because they played so well, and they wanted it so much.

"That's the sort of mentality that you want at West Ham. The next day he went into training fuming but he was straight back on it, which is what you want."

Soucek's performances have certainly not gone unnoticed, with a report back in February claiming Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing him this summer.

The Hammers are reportedly trying to thrash out a new deal for Soucek to try and fend off any interest from other teams so they can build on what has been a solid season.
