West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing PSV Eindhoven winger Noni Madueke this month and his potential arrival at the London Stadium could see David Moyes ditch Jarrod Bowen.

According to 90min, the Hammers are one of several Premier League sides who have been keeping an eye on the 20-year-old winger, who has impressed since moving to the Eredivisie side from Tottenham Hotspur when he was a teenager.

Since then, he has gone on to make 79 senior appearances for the Dutch side, contributing an impressive 20 goals and 14 assists in that time, despite suffering a number of injury issues in his time at the Phillips Stadion.

After hitting 12 goals and 12 assists last season in a successful campaign, it seemed for all the world that Bowen would be a key man for Moyes again this season and while the Scottish manager has continued to trust him to start, the former Hull City man has been extremely under-par.

A return of two goals and no assists in 19 appearances has seen him earn a shocking 6.60 average rating from WhoScored for his performances, which ranks him as the eighth-best player in Moyes' squad so far this campaign.

Meanwhile, Madueke has averaged an impressive 7.28 rating from WhoScored for his displays in the Dutch top flight, despite managing just one goal in five appearances, which suggests that, on current form at least, he could be a big upgrade at the London Stadium.

The England U21 international has also averaged far more shots (3.4 vs 2.2), key passes (2.6 vs 1.4) and dribbles per game (2.2 vs 0.5) than Bowen this season, emphasising the quality that he could add at the London Stadium.

Former PSV midfielder Tommie van de Leegte was full of praise for Madueke's ability on the wing in 2020, telling Omroep Brabant (via Goal):

"He's fast and has the capability to trick his opponent. He brings creativity and is very explosive in his actions. That's what PSV needs."

While reports have suggested that Madueke could cost as much as £40m, at 20 years old, the young winger could be an excellent investment for the future by West Ham, and allow Moyes to ditch Bowen after his less-than-impressive start to the new campaign.
