West Ham United are holding internal conversations over the future of their manager David Moyes following their dreadful start to the campaign.

What's the latest?

It really has been a huge underwhelming start to the campaign for the Hammers who find themselves rooted in the bottom three of the Premier League table after 19 games.

Having now played half of the 2022/23 campaign, the Irons are sitting in 18th spot of the table with just four wins and 15 points to their name.

And with 12 of those games coming as defeats, there is the growing belief that Moyes' time at the London Stadium could be coming to its conclusion.

Speaking on the latest Talking Transfers podcast, journalist Toby Cudworth has claimed the board are now holding discussions over what is next for Moyes at West Ham:

"We understand that those conversations are happening. It's a bit of a split right now as to what to do. And ideally, they wouldn't want to make that change, but signings might have to go on the back-burner while they decide what to do with the manager."

Moyes needs a huge turnaround

It is almost unbelievable to see the Irons go from their Europa League success last season in reaching the semi-finals to where they are at now.

And this season has almost taken them back to where they were when Moyes took over back in 2019 for the second time in his career.

But the run of form they find themselves on this season is incredibly worrying with just goal difference keeping them off the bottom spot of the table.

Next up for the Irons is an opportunity to steal a march on one of their relegation rivals, Everton, who travel to London on Saturday in what will be a huge match.

However, if West Ham do lose that game they could potentially find themselves rock bottom of the table and you would then have to question what will lie in wait for Moyes.

And it is not as if Moyes wasn't backed over the summer as the Hammers spent a fortune on the likes of Gianluca Scammaca and Lucas Paqueta (via Transfermarkt).

But they have simply not seen enough out of those players which does beg the question of whether a manager like Moyes is able to extract the best out of the duo.

There have been a number of names linked to potentially replace Moyes such as Nuno Espirito Santo and Rafael Benitez, but we think the Hammers need someone to help their summer signings discover the form that earned them a move to London.
