After crashing out of the EFL Cup in midweek, David Moyes is expected to make wholesale changes to return to his best side for West Ham United's game against Leicester City today.

The Hammers have lost three of their last four Premier League games, despite a smattering of comprehensive Europa Conference League wins in between, and have subsequently dropped to 15th, just two points off the relegation zone.

With an early cup exit boxed off and the World Cup break looming, the Scotsman will want to leave a good impression on the fans in their final game before the month-long break.

Boasting a relatively clean bill of health, he will likely be able to make an astounding 11 changes from their midweek clash with Blackburn Rovers, returning to his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation.

Łukasz Fabiański will return between the sticks for Alphonse Areola, who has made a strong case this season to dismiss the Polish stopper as the undisputed number one at the London Stadium.

The usual pairing of Craig Dawson and Kurt Zouma will also return, with Aaron Cresswell and Thilo Kehrer flanking a solid defence.

Captain Declan Rice was a notable absentee from their cup clash, but he will also come back in alongside the somewhat disappointing Tomas Soucek. There will be hope that the upcoming break provides the necessary rest to see him return to his goalscoring best.

A refreshed front four will provide a huge increase in attacking impetus too, with Lucas Paqueta to take over from Manuel Lanzini in the number ten role.

The “magic” Brazilian talent is still yet to truly acclimatise to east London, but when he does there is a special player waiting to be unleashed.

He will be flanked by Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen, fresh off his disappointing World Cup snub with England. Perhaps with a point to prove he will take out his fury on the Foxes.

Once again Michail Antonio will drop to the bench, in favour of their Italian marksman Gianluca Scamacca.

Predicted West Ham XI: Fabianski; Kehrer, Dawson, Zouma, Cresswell; Rice, Soucek; Bowen, Paqueta, Benrahma; Scamacca.
