West Ham United return to Premier League action today, as they face yet another tough task by welcoming Chelsea to the London Stadium.

David Moyes' side are fresh off the back of their impressive result at St James' Park, where they battled to gain a point against high-flying Newcastle United.

Today's game represents another opportunity to take advantage of a Blues side still searching for an identity under Graham Potter, and as such are struggling in front of goal.

It is sure to be a tight match, in which neither side will be full of confidence, and with varying news regarding injuries for the Hammers, there are sure to be a few changes.

Moyes is expected to make three changes from the side that earned a point last time out.

Łukasz Fabiański will continue in goal, who will have been surprised by how quiet a game he had against the Magpies. It could be more of the same today, but the 37-year-old will have to remain sharp.

He will sit behind a back three only slightly changed, as Ben Johnson comes in to replace Thilo Kehrer at right centre-back. The German titan disappointed last time out and has admittedly faced struggles all season.

This was almost predicted by football correspondent Jonathan Johnson, who has claimed in the past that he was: "awful in any & all positions".

Nayef Aguerd and Angelo Ogbonna will retain their places, as will Vladimir Coufal and Emerson Palmieri at wing-back.

Lucas Paqueta and club captain Declan Rice will continue to further their midfield partnership, as Moyes continues to try and squeeze the benefits out of his club record signing.

Given their lack of threat up front, both Said Benrahma and Michail Antonio will drop out in favour of two preferred options. Given the tactical fluidity of a Potter side, having Pablo Fornals come in will allow the Irons to switch formations in game to counter any surprises sprung upon them.

Then, when the opportunity arises, Danny Ings will be on hand to show off his lethal scoring touch as he returns to the starting side.

Having made a short substitute appearance last weekend, Moyes could now start the former Southampton "hero" - as once dubbed by The Athletic's Carl Anka - as he seeks an immediate return on his £15m investment.

Jarrod Bowen is expected to continue on the right wing.
