West Ham United are interested in a deal to bring Jonathan Bamba to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window.

What's the talk?

That's according to a report by Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), who claim that the LOSC Lille winger is looking set to leave the Ligue 1 side at the end of the season, with David Moyes believed to be keeping an extremely close eye on the situation of the winger ahead of a potential summer swoop.

The report goes on to state that, with the 25-year-old entering the final 12 months of his current contract at the Stade Pierre Mauroy in June, the likes of Atalanta, Sevilla and Bayer Leverkusen are also keen on a move for the former France U21 international - for whom Lille are expected to demand a figure in the region of €20m (£17m) to part with.

Imagine him & Bowen

While Lille have not exactly enjoyed the best of seasons thus far in their Ligue 1 title defence, with Les Dogues currently occupying 11th place in the top flight of French football, Bamba nevertheless proved last season that he would make an exceptional addition to West Ham's current options out wide - especially for as little as £17m.

Indeed, over his 38 league outings last time out, the £19.8m-rated left-winger - who can also operate on the right flank, as well as through the middle - was in rather remarkable form for Lille, scoring six goals, registering nine assists and creating five big chances for his teammates, as well as taking an average of 1.6 shots and making 1.7 key passes per game.

These returns saw the £24k-per-week forward who Zach Lowy dubbed LOSC's "creative leader" earn a highly impressive seasonal SofaScore match rating of 6.94, ranking him as his club's ninth-best player in their title-winning campaign.

As such, considering the fact that Hammers already possess a world-class option on the right-wing in the form of Jarrod Bowen - who already has eight goals and eight assists to his name over 26 appearances in the Premier League this season - should Bamba be able to recreate his form from 2020/21 following a switch to East London this summer, Moyes could well have formed an extremely deadly duo on the West Ham wings.
