West Ham United will be looking to add another one or two signings to their first-team squad before the end of the transfer window as David Moyes eyes a productive final few months of the season.

Danny Ings and Brazilian defender Luizao have arrived at the London Stadium this month, while experienced centre-back Craig Dawson has left to join Wolverhampton Wanderers and Moyes will surely be looking at securing a long-term heir for the 32-year-old.

According to ExWHUemployee, West Ham United could potentially make a move for Liverpool defender Nathaniel Phillips, especially with the Anfield side recalling Rhys Williams from a loan spell at Blackpool and this could lead to an exit for Phillips.

Speaking to the West Ham Way Patreon, Ex discussed the club's interest in Phillips, saying: “Interestingly, Liverpool look set to recall Rhys Williams from his loan spell at Championship side Blackpool with interest growing in Nat Phillips before next week’s transfer deadline.

“As we revealed at the start of the window we expected him to be a target. Liverpool appeared reluctant to let him go following Van Dijk’s injury but it seems like they could be preparing for his departure.

“West Ham have always been keen on the player and could also make a move for the player.”

This is encouraging news for Moyes as he looks for another centre-back and Phillips could be a realistic option that shouldn’t cost a substantial transfer fee.

The £65k-per-weekmonster” – as dubbed by Jurgen Klopp previously – has struggled to establish himself as a regular in Klopp’s Liverpool juggernaut over the previous few seasons, playing only 29 times for the club, with just five appearances coming this term.

The 25-year-old did prove he could perform at the highest level during a loan spell at Bournemouth last season, achieving a Sofascore rating of 7.04/10 across 17 Championship appearances.

The defender demonstrated his ability by keeping eight clean sheets, making 0.8 tackles, 4.1 clearances and 1.5 interceptions along with winning an impressive 65% of his total duels and his physicality could be a real bonus for Moyes as he looks to lure the defender to West Ham.

Klopp also described him as “intelligent” following his man-of-the-match performance against West Ham in 2020 and although his future clearly lies away from Merseyside, he could certainly become a dream heir for Dawson.
