West Ham United are interested in a deal to bring Aaron Ramsey to the London Stadium on transfer deadline day.

What's the talk?

That's according to a report by The Telegraph, who claim that David Moyes' side have now joined the race for the out of favour Juventus midfielder, who has already travelled to England amid interest from a number of Premier League clubs, as well as reigning Scottish Champions Rangers.

Regarding West Ham's interest in the Wales international, The Telegraph state: "West Ham United have joined the race to sign Aaron Ramsey, who has travelled to England amid interest from several Premier League clubs as well as Scottish champions Rangers.

"Juventus want to offload the Wales midfielder, who earns around £250k a week. He is thought to have three clubs interested and rejected a proposed move to Burnley."

Fans will be baffled

While Ramsey is undoubtedly a player who boasts a considerable amount of ability, central midfield is arguably one of the positions in which West Ham least need reinforcements this winter, with Moyes currently having the options of Declan Rice, Thomas Soucek, Mark Noble, Alex Kral, Pablo Fornals and Manuel Lanzini in the middle of the park.

Granted, the former Arsenal midfielder would certainly be an upgrade on a number of the aforementioned players, however, with the Hammers in desperate need of both a new centre-back and centre-forward prior to this evening's transfer deadline, exactly why the club would be concentrating their efforts on getting a deal over the line for a 31-year-old midfielder who earns a quarter of a million pounds a week is sure to have left fans baffled.

Indeed, if a central defender and a striker are brought into the club in the coming hours, perhaps a deal for Ramsey could be pursued, however, as long as the two priority positions are not filled, Moyes should not even be considering a move for the Juventus reject.
