Rosario Dello Iavoco has dropped an update on reported West Ham United transfer target Piotr Zielinski.

In recent comments cited by Area Napoli (via Sport Witness), the Italian journalist revealed that, following a number of reports linking David Moyes with a move for the Napoli midfielder this summer, the Hammers have now reached a £30m agreement with the Serie A club for the transfer of the 28-year-old.
However, Iavoco went on to claim that, at present, the prospect of giving up Champions League football with Luciano Spalletti's side in favour of a team playing in the Europa Conference League next season does not overly entice the Poland international.
Regarding the Irons' interest in Zielinski, the journalist said: "Between Naples and West Ham I understand that an agreement has been reached for Zielinski for about £30m, which is equal to €35.63m - the bonuses I do not know at the moment.
"Piotr wants to leave, above all for 'environmental' reasons that have strongly affected the inexplicable drop in performance in the second half of last season. However, at least at the moment, there is no agreement on the engagement with the Hammers, considering that from the Champions League he would find himself playing the Conference League."
Supporters will love Iavoco's update
While it would appear as if Rob Newman and his West Ham transfer team still have work to do in terms of convincing Zielinski of a move to east London this summer, Iavoco's update that the Premier League club have now reached an agreement with Napoli for the transfer of the 28-year-old is sure to be news that the London Stadium faithful will love.
Indeed, the versatile player - who can operate in defensive, central and attacking midfield, as well as on either flank - would appear to make an excellent addition to Moyes' options in the middle of the park next season, having scored six goals, registered five assists and created five big chances over 35 Serie A appearances in 2021/22.
The £36m-rated talent also impressed over his seven appearances in the Europa League last time out, scoring two goals and averaging a SofaScore match rating of 7.03, ranking him as Gli Azzurri's fourth-best player in the competition.
As such, should Newman indeed be able to convince Zielinski of a move to West Ham, the 72-cap international's signing would appear to be yet another exceptional piece of business by the Irons this summer, having already secured a number of exciting additions including Gianluca Scamacca, Nayef Aguerd, Flynn Downes and Alphonse Areola (now permanent).
