David Moyes' new contract at West Ham should be announced this week...

What's the word?

That's according to the ever-reliable ExWHUemployee, who dropped a fresh claim on the situation to Twitter this week.

The 58-year-old had emerged as a shock contender for the Everton job, as per The Times, with Carlo Ancelotti nearing a return to Real Madrid as Zinedine Zidane's replacement.

There had been reports suggesting that Moyes was close to agreeing to a new three-year extension and this seems to have been confirmed by ExWHUemployee in the midst of some unneeded speculation that clearly had some supporters a little anxious.

Exciting news

Moyes has transformed the East London outfit in the space of a year, saving them with one game to go to earning them for a place in the Europa League next term.

So these rumours linking him with his old job at Goodison Park have quickly been squashed and as a result, fans can get excited once again.

Talk of a long-term deal is hugely encouraging for those at the London Stadium and it shows that the club's hierarchy have learned from their past mistakes.

Moyes was axed by GSB early into his first reign and under his successor, Manuel Pellegrini, the Irons flirted with relegation back to the Championship.

As evident this season, he is building something quite special, largely thanks to his shrewd recruitment off the pitch. No one would have heard of either Tomas Soucek or Vladimir Coufal before their sensational performances in the capital.

Whilst the addition of Craig Dawson added some much-needed experience and leadership to the backline and no one could've predicted the turnaround in form of Jesse Lingard, who hadn't played this season prior to joining the Hammers in January.

His nine goals and five assists certainly helped get West Ham over the line and if they can get him permanently this summer, then Moyes really could continue his special work.

It's an exciting time to be an Iron and this latest update from Rush Green will come as delightful news to many, many fans, especially after the surprise Everton links.

AND in other news, Moyes risks West Ham disaster with £30m Lingard alternative who's been a "liability"...
