Wolves have recently been linked with signing Stuttgart wing-back Borna Sosa, and if he becomes their second new signing of the summer transfer window, the Croatian could be the man to ignite Bruno Lage's attack next season.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Old Gold - along with Chelsea, Manchester City and Bayern Munich - are interested in signing the 24-year-old this summer after his impressive performances in the Bundesliga last season.

He goes on to suggest: "Sosa has struggled with injuries but is a dynamic left-back or wingback who is full of assists, including one that sent Croatia to the World Cup. Has an excellent delivery and is confident in tight spaces. Strong acceleration over short distances."

Considering that Lage has lined up with wing-backs during his tenure at Molineux, Sosa could be a natural fit at the club and would provide some much-needed depth in that position following the summer departure of Marcal.

While Rayan Ait-Nouri showed glimpses last season, he, Jonny and Marcal managed just two assists between them in the Premier League, so you could argue that Sosa would be an upgrade from an attacking perspective.

The defender ranked in the 97th percentile for shot-creating actions when compared with other full-backs in Europe's top five leagues last season, which suggests that he could definitely help to unlock Wolves' attacking potential after a season which saw them manage just 38 goals in the top flight.

Sosa also scored highly in terms of assists, progressive carries and progressive passes, which emphasises his ability going forwards and again suggests that he could be an upgrade on Ait-Nouri and Jonny.

The Croatian could provide plenty of quality crosses into the box, which could also be the key to getting Raul Jimenez back to his best after he managed just six goals in the Premier League last season.

However, he was only expected to score 6.6 goals in the top flight, which suggests that the problem was a lack of service rather than poor finishing from the former Benfica marksman.

Sosa was expected to register 5.9 assists in the Bundesliga last season by himself, actually getting eight, which is twice as many as any Wolves player managed in the Premier League.

Therefore, it seems clear that the "excellent" Sosa - as described by the aforementioned Jacobs - would add some real creativity to Lage's side should he make the move to Molineux. The Croatian could be the key to increasing Wolves' attacking output next season, while also ensuring that Jimenez gets far more opportunities in front of goal.
